Ponderosa Point

Wildlife

Please do not feed any wildlife around the resort.  Human food can be very harmful to the animals.

Geese:

You will notice orange lights located around the resort. These provide a very soft flashing light that disturbs the sleep patterns of geese and keeps them for soiling our grass and beach area. Please do not play with these lights, they seem to be very effective and need to be left exactly where they are. If you see geese on the grounds, please text management- 250-809-7806.

Bats:

You will notice large and small flat boxes on trees around the resort. These are bat houses. Bats tend to keep to themselves but do a wonderful job at keeping the mosquito population down. If you notice bats nesting somewhere they should not be, please let management know.

Deer:

One of the wonders of our area are our local deer. You will occasionally see them wondering around. Typically, deer are no threat to anyone but please do not sneak up on them, they startle easily and as any wild animal they may react if scared.

Woodpeckers:

Woodpeckers are beautiful birds, but they cause damage on many of our wood buildings. Please scare them away if you notice them on buildings and let management know their location.
